The BBB had a lot in it, and we don’t have a sterling financial situation right now. There were a lot of arguments against it. A lot of the arguments for it were “it’s an unprincipled exception, we have to win the midterms.” He wasn’t a bad congressman for opposing it.

@Will2Power @EvilSandmich He was a complete amateur and a bit of a sperg too. We really do just need to reach the tipping point where smart and successful people don’t feel they’re throwing their life away by pursuing these politics openly. That day will come.
Also important to note how small the total vote count for these primaries are. It is very easy to tip the balance when some of these vote totals are less than 13k. Much less ability to gatekeep these primaries than the general. Much to think about.

AI seems like a bad thing just because it’s blackpilling everyone on their careers at the same time. Everyone is looking for an exit before anything or anything that much has happened, because the assumption is it’ll all be gone in 10 years so anyone preparing for the future is setting themselves up to be rugpulled. If there are any gaps in AI, and it seems like there might be, no one’s going to be in place to fill those gaps. There’s also zero answer to the “what happens when nobody has a job” question even though that seems to be what the AI bulls are banking on. So everyone is generally and vaguely pessimistic about the future because no one is actually sure what it will replace, and if it works, no one knows what will actually replace the “people surviving and thriving by trading time for money” strategy that’s been the meta for idk 200 years. There’s no clear plan or consistent messaging on this huge societal shift, so everyone’s kind of panicking and hoping their savings or family support system will carry them.
Besides the inherent stress, it seems like it’s setting us up for a miserable skill economy in the future. “We don’t have anyone who can do that because they assumed it would be automated away” or “everyone wants to drive DoorDash because there’s still no efficient redistribution system.”

A big worry of mine is Gen Z never getting into the workforce or married. Once everyone starts hitting 30 it’ll be a huge problem.
