Do you find you can be extremely aware of tiny signals (i.e. "the dishwasher doesn't sound quite right", "I wonder if she's recently pregnant, her walk has changed"), but oblivious to social cues which depend on tiny signals (i.e. "is she flirting with me, or just more friendly than average?")?

Wondering if it's me, or an ADHD thing.

@mayintoronto The larger part of what I meant by private and sensitive, yes. It should be illegal to send that info out of the province, or at least not out of the country.

@paninid My brother-in-law still tells the story of how he'd fall asleep on the train home from downtown, after pinning a note to his coat saying what stop he needed. Never missed it once.

@Snowshadow My mother was asking me if we (wife and I) still have any Easter traditions. I told her we only have one: Retelling the story about how we discovered, upon visiting her (my mother) at Easter, that she doesn't like ham.

See, apparently the reason my family often had ham on occasions was because my father likes ham, Mom doesn't. Mom still made it frequently, even when no one was visiting.

They've been divorced for thirty years. She's been making and eating a meal she dislikes for thirty years. We asked, she couldn' even name the reason. It had simply never realky occurred to her she didn't have to anymore.

And now our one Easter tradition is to retell that story to each other and chuckle.

@rbreich A dictatorship is one run by a dictator, one who rules by dictate, decree, rather than things going through the regular process of government. That's what doing everything by executive order is: Trump just dictates what he wants, and the system falls into line.

Don't stay home. Don't assume the outcome is set. Don't abdicate your responsibility. You're a citizen--this is your duty. Take part, be a part of the system so that you can be a part of the solution. Show your fellow Canadians that you care, and show the United States that when they throw their weight around, Canadians take notice and stand tough!

There was a point in my lifetime when I was frightened of the possibility of nuclear war.

Then there was a point in my lifetime when I was overjoyed at the reducing likelihood, the increase of peace and disarmament.

Now there is a point in my lifetime when I have to be happy about the likelihood of increasing nuclear armament against the possibility of aggression from a former ally on our doorstep.
