    @IAMAL_PHARIUS Even if Trump walks tariffs back, the damage for America is already done. People making money over the supply chain don't like being hostages of capricious retards. Two initial small dips plus a fully fledged market meltdown is enough I think.

    Probably a ton of companies (including American ones) trying to reduce their Orange Retard exposure: reducing market share, raising margins through the roof just in case, etc.

    And the goodies that go away might not come back.

    @IAMAL_PHARIUS Yeah I meant if the "trade war" was real. I would expect China to immediately attack the currency and start closing deals at discount to ship product to alternative markets.

    I think it would take, optimistically, 15 years for America to reindustrialize to the point the same products available now exist again 100% home made. And the will to make it happen ofc.

    The immediate problem is tech and military are crippled by being unable to manufacture basic electronic components (transistors, resistors, gates) at scale to assemble equipment

    @IAMAL_PHARIUS this all feels like Kabuki theater. I think in a few weeks the whole thing will be silently dropped, lost in administrative implementation.

    Why? Because if I were Xi and I wanted to hurt America, I wouldn't announce counter tariffs, I would immediately start selling all those US Bonds and then immediately exchanging the USD into CHF or EUR.
