he probably has to be really careful to stay out of rain/water or all that makeup and bronzing will wash off and everyone in sight of it will be turned to stone.

tonight, penne with a lemon pesto.

kicking back for a few, sipping a sheiner strawberry shandy until the gumbo hits boil.

my college room mate was a music major and one semester, studied eine kleine nachtmusik, playing it over and over and over and over and...

to this day, if i simply leave a voicemail message where i hum the opening theme to eine kleine nachtmusik and hang up, he'll know it's me.

i like the "wait for them to speak first" method though.

we need to stop sugar coating and trying to gift wrap it as "save the kids". it's not "age verification", it's "identity tracking and control". if we keep calling it that every time politicians try to sugar coat it, the general public might grab a clue what the real agenda is.

i seemed to have that conversation with every parent of a kid i taught music.

pay a bit more and get a decent used instrument. your kid will have a better instrument and better experience. you'll get what you paid for back out of it if you sell, which you won't with a crap new instrument. the next parent can benefit the same way.

disposable crap that can't be repaired is just evil waste of resources.

ooh. restored version of Lawrence of Arabia streaming this month. something for the weekend.

we're starting to get the summer foods.

tonight, we'll have branzino in a lemon butter sauce, fresh steamed asparagus, and mashed potatoes.

made enough mashed potatoes to also do a pasteis de bacalhau that we'll actually fry up sometime this week. they freeze well uncooked, then just pop in oil or air fryer later.

also whipping up a black bean salad for lunches. black beans, corn, red bell pepper, onion, fresh cilantro, olive oil, lime juice, hot sauce.

sites like the internet archive, wikipedia, project gutenberg, and all the museums and libraries sharing scans of rare books and manuscripts are the internet we should be fighting for, defending, and demanding from our politicians.

the illegally scraped content, boiled into LLM hallucinations, then sold to us a squeeze at a time that the AI shysters want to foist on us is the *opposite* of what the internet should be.

give what you can, speak up, write your elected officials.
