probably not, but having chatGPT write C for you is totally fine. ;)

Paul_IPv6 (paul_ipv6@infosec.exchange)'s status on Saturday, 24-Feb-2024 06:06:36 JST Paul_IPv6 i was just getting into computers seriously as higher level languages were making assembly, awareness of actual RAM usage, etc much less necessary. it's been interesting as we've move further away from all that and yet there is still a need for at least a few folks to dive into the guts underneath.

Paul_IPv6 (paul_ipv6@infosec.exchange)'s status on Sunday, 11-Feb-2024 06:33:52 JST Paul_IPv6 my uncle was a professional publisher of high end art/photography books. i remember how meticulous he was with every single aspect of text/font/picture layouts. he found most text editing software on computer painful to use.
the problem with the web is that we have two religions with irreconcilable differences. you can't have any random device with any random screen layout, size, resolution, and control exactly how a page is displayed and formatted. you get fixed display and control, or no control and any device.

at least subscripts/superscripts/fractions would all display correctly.

'no developer of any device software/OS that human beings use is allowed to touch a single line of code until they have spent 6 months doing user support at an assisted care facility'

Paul_IPv6 (paul_ipv6@infosec.exchange)'s status on Friday, 26-Jan-2024 09:17:34 JST Paul_IPv6 i was somewhere overseas when they asked this.
i got pulled out of line because i had so much.
then they went through the xrays, even asked me to pull out electric toothbrush and shaver "because they said *all* electronics".
25 minutes later, including the time to completely repack everything, i was finally on my way.
i sure felt safer flying. oh yeah. uh huh. you betcha.

we need a slew of changes. ditch the electoral college. major campaign finance reform. mandatory consistent federal term limits (the same for all states), ditching of the current congressional seniority system for committee assignment, federal oversight (and enforcement!) of voting districts, federal standards for the algorithms used for said voting districts.
way too many thumbs on the scale now and no calibration authority to counteract it.
