There is one entrance to the #BernieSanders#AOC rally in #Denver, on Broadway. The queue to get inside the rally area completely encircles Civic Center Park. There are thousands of people queued up who probably won't get inside before the rally starts. Overflow spaces are also filling up; I'm camped at the Greek Theater at the south side of the park. It is exhilarating to see so many people here. So much shared grief and frustration at the destruction, and at the inaction and passive timidity of elected officials, and also joy in community and solidarity.
There was an absolute SEA of people, at least 25,000 in the entire civic center area. it's hard to show or even explain the scale short of using a drone to take an aerial photo. Here's one that was shared by a friend who was standing on the third-floor balcony at the Capitol, a block away. People filled the venue and every available open space for two full city blocks in every direction. And the crowd was FIRED UP not just because of the Republicans, but because they are angry that corporatist Democrats aren't defending the country, either.
I am on my way to the #BernieSanders#AOC rally in Denver at the capitol. The bus I am on is standing room only and every bus stop along the way is packed with people headed to the rally. This is going to be a massive event. The mood is pretty energetic in here, with a lot of younger and many older people excited to be a part of a historic event.

All the folks who mass-migrated to #Bluesky in the past few months are now the unwitting trainers for an #AI dataset that has collected all their posts. Brilliant move. Another blockbuster investigation from @404mediaco
Followed ZERO people. Unfollowed the automatic bsky account. Did not like or repost anything. So the algorithm knows nothing about me.
Spent the first 30 minutes reading five posts, scrolling down, and seeing a flood of angry, trolly buttholes just spewing verbal feces in every direction about their god emperor and how 'he's going to teach you cucks a lesson' - you know, the complete expected, bot-driven algorithmic hate speech drivel from the firstname-bunchanumbers crowd.
Funny, I never had that experience on Mastodon. It has been great so far, never going back to the Bad Place, and I have absolutely no desire to get back into that mess or this new one. I only created the account there to reserve the username.
It used to be that a quick Google search for "how to do [a thing]" would lead you to a web page or a forum post that included the exact command and one sentence about how to accomplish that task. I don't know when the default result became "watch a ten minute Youtube video about how to do this thing" but it is really frickin obnoxious.
