@chris My personal email inboxes and calendar are all in Fastmail—using their web UI via WebCatalog or the browser. I've *never* been happy with desktop apps—email or calendar—in comparison. I tried some calendar apps last time Fastmail changed things, ended up just coding a few CSS overrides in WebCatalog to get things right.
@chris We do most of our work on our internal forum, so there are days when I forget to even open Gmail & gCal. But when I do, I have them in WebCatalog apps.
👏🏻 “I want friction. I want intentionality. I want to listen to an album because I chose it, not because it was shuffled into my ears by a recommendation engine. I want to write, read, and think in places that don't depend on ad revenue or growth hacking. I want to use tools that exist to serve me, not extract from me.” https://www.joanwestenberg.com/im-entering-my-curmudgeon-era/

@chris I was so frustrated with text message spam, I got the household & my mom on Signal (which can do video calls). But Signal doesn't work like SMS if cellular data is flakey. And notifications didn't always work. And then I found Bouncer for iOS and just blocked all the spam with keywords.
