In grade 10 math, I could roaming-peck 135wpm. My teacher could only homerow 85wpm so he sent me to the office for lying about my speed before he actually tested me, because my poor technique made my results obviously impossible.

I think fediverse already has "made it", for what that means to me.
I log in every day and see interesting posts, abject silliness, tech and political news, tits. I've made personal connections, friends even. I've helped fund my survival and helped other people fund theirs, and I've seen and shared uncountable pet pictures.

I don't want Mozilla to "process" my data at all. The browser should be a tool that I use to interact with web sites and services. At no point after I download the broswer does Mozilla need to be involved.

Sync is different, whatever other services they offer, then it makes sense to require an agreement. Then Moz has legitimate cause and consent to process data on my behalf.

But basic browsing? There is no way Mozilla should ever see any of my data, let alone "process" it.

There's a *whole lot* of info in that 2d barcode on the back of a modern ID card! I spent some time with a barcode scanner and mag strip reader a few years ago and it's just wild! You don't want them recording it.

I think it's notable that
1. NYPD actually does have the capability and will to track the shooter from when he arrived in NYC by bus through the shooting until he left the city by bus, all via dystopian camera feeds like in an NCIS:LA episode, and
2. That still hasn't helped them identify him
Like... Massive civil rights questions aside, it seems like it's just not effective?

I think part of the motive search might just be that we don't really believe a random person can just *do* something like that?
Like, we're taught from birth that we're powerless before Business, so the idea of an apex CEO getting whacked in the street by an individual person defending or avenging or whatever a personal thing, is just too alien for most people?

It's actually cheaper for me to drive from here to Toronto (250ish km) than to get a train.
When I was working in TO I used to drive to Scarborough and catch the Go train downtown. It just wasn't viable to take rail all the way.
