PodToo has surpassed 500,000 downloads to podcast apps and streamed content to radio stations.

Huge thanks to all the creators and app developers who are changing the way podcast and radio shows are enjoyed.

So I did a little test of our podcast episode performance technology, and have to say I am bloody impressed with how good the data truly is.

I really didn’t know if this would work, and wow the data is really interesting.

I truely have to thank @dave for giving me the idea - he might not know it, but it was his talk about HLS and first party data that made me revisit this idea how can we get data without begging the players.

We only show data that has over 50% completion.

can anyone suggest a better analytics tool than Google, I am finding it lacks information that the old version had. Maybe I am missing something.

According to Podcastindex.org we only have 3 apps that support video and with this supposedly big push into video we need more apps to support it.

Can we please give a round of applause to everyone involved in Podcasting Index and the name space. People like:

The community has truely achieved some ground breaking things like location, transcripts, person tag and podcast GUID. Not to mention having an open index directory and podping.

@tchambers @dansup it was a little joke between Dan and I. If he does decide to do it. It will be interesting as it’s really hard to make a CDN you have to have many servers around the world. We use Varnish Cache for ours.

@dansup who are you using? We use sendGrid and it’s cheap as chips.

@dansup just please be careful of burnout. It happens I’ve struggled with it and managing 2 companies is not easy when both need to make profit to stay afloat. You’re a little different but I think the community would lose someone super talented if you don’t take time to relax.

Yes I know coding is relaxing (it is for me too)

@dansup have you ever used Redis or rabbitMQ? What is your thoughts if you have? I am looking at it to store average listener time queue so we don’t accidentally use old data twice and don’t mis-calculate.

I know I can build a manual queue in mongodb but thought maybe this is better?

@twilliability @hongminhee would be nice to have a standard though as a developer I want something that is understood by all.

@hongminhee as a developer we often struggle with this too has there is no real standard. We should make one.

@dansup The issue with it Dan, is great if your a Tiktok app, but for a podcast hosting company or a video sharing company it is a little different we are not dealing with 30 second clips we are dealing with 1h to 3h 4K video.

It's very costly, and if you have cracked that code, would love to see an open source version of it, as that could be a game changer

@dansup I am most definitely the most harshest person to myself. Even my partner says am to hard on myself.

He always saying how proud he is of me, and it’s sweet. But that doesn’t put money on the table and help us make a life.

I’ve worked to bloody hard to fail that’s what I keep saying to myself. So keep smashing doors they will open eventually.
