Therapist : "Why dont u do something u like? What do u like?"
Me: " I like to see the downfall of capitalism."
Therapist: " I was thinking more like painting and photography. "
Me: "" Oh yea that too"

NO. None of those are the important questions. The important question is
Why does the US military industrial complex fuel the bombing of Yemen to profit from arms sales and maintain geopolitical dominance, disregarding humanitarian consequences?
Me : "I hate gossips."
Also me searching hachyderm moderation hullabaloo:
Went out to take some night shots in Melbourne and got unwanted attention from two weird men on two separate occassions. First one said he liked my camera and that my hair looks so 'gorgeous'. It was also weird how he said 'I think youre Filipino cos youre all cute'
Second one was worse, telling hes been 'looking' at me for awhile and that he was 'amazed' by how I walk. This guy even followed me from the bridge to Flinders station.
Oh god. This is why we dont have hobbies cos men ruin everything.
I have convinced my cousins to move to Signal if they wanna talk to me. Cause either that or they will send me an email.
Cousin: Are you giordano.bruno[randomnumbers]?
Me: Yes. That's my account.
Cousin: Hahaha why, why would you name yourself Giordano after a clothing brand?
Me (in my head): This bitch doesnt read history books.
Me (irl): He was actually not a brand. He was burned at a stake by the Church you go to every Sunday.
She hasn't replied since :D
I got a follow request from this certain
"Cybersecurity / Infosec practitioner"
who uses a Ai-generated images of sexy women. I mean okay, but weird lol
Reintroduction cause my feed is getting bit monotonous
Hi everyone. My name is Jean, born in an island and raised by the seas. 🌊 Ive been here for awhile but am looking for new people to connect with.
I work in data by day, but I am full time activist. Done work on hate speech analysis and mitigation (against the Rohingya community), human rights education, cybersecurity for activists and so on. I am currently affliated with the Coalition to #StopDigitalDictatorship. Im actually leading it at the moment, where we advocate and push back against censorship and surveillance from governments in Southeast Asia.
In my free time, I do some photography, programming, cooking (vegan), writing blogs, swearing, rolling my eyes, singing, walking my dog Heidi and shitreplying to capitalist fuckers on Linkedin. I also enjoy dad jokes, art films, sketching and learning in general.
Im a socialist and an atheist.
Looking to connect

Can Americann liberals stop using 'unAmerican' when describing shit things?
Own your shit. Your country was borne out of a genocide of native peoples. And for so long, you took a Pontius Pilate approach to international relations, washing hands at every possible circumstance. Youre policing the world while the world cant police you.
6 Jan was American. Dont bring 'third world' shit into this.
@jerry YESSS! Put Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah on that list too
My face after hearing Christian evangelists use 'Take Me to Church' as a worship song :
Maybe if you stop telling non native English speakers students that 'they dont sound English natives enough', they might stop using AI to straighten their sentences out.
Stop grading peoples command of the English language esp when native speakers cant even use their language properly.
Grow a spine and ban ChatGPT and SpaceX too. A whole argument that anchors on 'China bad' for natsec but ignores 'US just as if not worse [1-3]]' is pure hypocrisy.
See
Is there a somewhere where I could filter out instances that are US based? Looking for non US-based on and instances.social cannot filter by location and this one https://joinmastodon.org/servers is not comprehensive
The media response to DeepSeek is fullblown hypocrisy particularly re western tech industry. You know whats fascinating about this #DeepSeek is how AI ‘gurus’ (or whatever term they want to dignify themselves with) suddenly screaming ‘privacy nightmare’ and ‘censorship’, yet their feeds are full of glorification of #ChatGPT and #Gemini. These are the same people who turned a blind eye on severe human rights issues with Western AI models.
DeepSeek’s issues with regards to censorship should NOT be ignored, but if there’s one lesson to pick up from here is that the AI bubble is nearing its end. Deepseek opened boundaries that were once closed because of US techbro oligarchy. Deepseek is what OpenAI promised to be in the beginning, but Altman changed his mind and now wanna profit off it.
Deepseek took a large bite off the big plate of US tech oligopoly. It tells us that we actually dont need to burn the whole planet down just for another large language model #llm . And the fact that such #AI ‘democratisation’ (loosely defined) is happening outside of the self-proclaimed world democracy is the biggest irony of 2025 so far. If anything, it serves as a reminder that the future of technology should not be solely dictated by a few nations, may that be #China or the #US. AND IM HERE FOR IT
*For shitheads who like jump into comments with low comprehension level. This POST isnt about open source. DeepSeek isnt even open source. Its open weights. This is about geopolitics.
@dalias more like the former! I end up getting heaps of weird comments recently from supposedly tech people. Maybe outing themselves afte being emboldened by a ceo in the white house.
I blocked so many people today here. Dunno whats about 22 Jan. I also am removing anon accounts from my follow that I never got to engage with. Im down to 300+ followers from about 600. More to go
@tek :D Its like mushrooms!!!
I accidentally bought another raspberry pi.
"Oh my god, Jean. You can't just call a coworker incompetent."
But she is tho
Sooner or later, they will want us to forget all this. That's why wannabe dictators are deliberately attacking institutions of truth (see Wikipedia and Muskrat issue). We need libraries more than ever, institutions who will remember for us when we have long forgotten what we were. Our collective memory and resistance are our greatest weapons against the tides of oppression.
Works in Infosec by day. Full time activist.Into photography, art of sketching, painting, cursing in 4 languages, cooking vegan food, playing with my beautiful dog, Heidi, rolling my eyes and whatever kind of fuckery in between
