@fesshole is this an American thing? So you leave all the kids to eat SPAGHETTI, together, totally unsupervised?? That seems like a bad idea.

Besides, kids deserve yummy or new food experiences too! Dietary requirements allowing.

I'm child free by choice, but I love having kids at the table. Ask a kid their favourite dinosaur/extant animal/pokemon and you'll have no more awkward breaks in the convo for an hour 😆

@fesshole cake batter, cookie dough, shortbread pastry are all better uncooked. Food poisoning be damned.

Swear I sometimes eat more raw shortbread than I put in the oven 😅

@niamhgarvey @actuallyautistic @actuallyadhd I lost a whole box of cakes all day, two days ago. Walked right past them while looking for them at least once.

@niamhgarvey @actuallyautistic @actuallyadhd I explain to new folk at work that the most common and important question I will ask them is "do you know where I left my tea cup?"

Sometimes ill dramatically stop the whole kitchen and demand "can anyone see my tea??"

It's nice because it makes people giggle and gives them an easy way to stack up brownie points and hear a grateful "yes, you're awesome, thank you."

@pathfinder @littlescraps toast. Sometimes I just have toast and peanut butter.

But then there are days when I can't even countenance standing for a few minutes to wait for the toaster to ping. And I can't stand toast that's gone cold before you put the butter on, so sitting down for a bit isn't an option.

One of the reasons I've applied for disability benefit is that on days like that I can order takeaway without working out what I have to not buy that month to afford it.
