I'm reading about the wildlife of the Mongolian plains. Their foxes look awesome.

A few weeks ago, I dropped my card wallet. Someone picked it up and found my library card in it, then walked all the way to the library to hand it in. The librarian gave me a call and I went to collect it.

So much awesomeness. It gets me in the feels.

I rented a van this morning for grocery shenanigans and someone left a hunky chunk of hardware in there. Its name is John.

John looked lonely so I'm on a mission to find John's friends.

I've passed the age where common knowledge would suggest this bullshit should stop, and my skin is my favourite thing. So soft and smooth and homochromatic.

But an occasional horny growth of puss and soreness sucks all the life out of me. It's like a dog log on a perfect lawn. Endearing, but entirely unwelcome.

A naked, confused, puffy man dies in a Sasahara street. Medics attend and police make enquires.

A lead detective and his newbie start chasing down why this man died. Forensics say it's a parasite not known to be local. Before long, an outbreak takes place and, through clever deduction and a little writer's magic, it's discovered to be the machinations of a single hurt scientist.

The art in this manga is gorgeous. Beautiful perspective, interesting action shots, great use of space and set design, and not a small amount of 'fan service' (I hate that term). The characters were a little flat, seemingly better placed in a jingoistic American war film, but the story makes up for the flaws.

CW: Gore, body horror, removal of agency, sexploitation, misogyny, child abuse, CSA, power play, on paper gun play.

Have you peeps heard of the manga 【noise】 by Tetsuya Tsutsui?

It's a gritty crime and law story set in rural Japan featuring some of the best character design and development I've ever seen. Apparently, it's been made into a B-movie too.

I'm going to get into this. Report back later.

A few days ago, a friend called and asked me to help out at the centre where he volunteers. I packed a bag with munch and extra clothes and dipped.

It was so busy there I didn't have time to munch, so I forgot about the banana and protein pot I had in my bag.

When I got up this morning, there was this smell. One of rot, of decay. My nose took me all around d the house until I found my bag in the closet.

The smell. Ooooh, the smell. Have you ever heard of buzzards and shitwagons? That. Just that.

Well, I'm very awake now.

I hate my brain sometimes.

Apparently there is a mild brouhaha amongst us regarding the 'X' button on a PlayStation controller.

So, 'everyone' on Reddit (re: English-only speakers) is convinced it's called 'Eks', while every polyglot, including PlayStation themselves, call it 'cross'.

Watching this is a lesson in patience, annoyance, pettiness, and ignorance supremacy.
