He should disappear for 6 months and then come back thin and completely ripped. Would be the best international mogging possible.

It's about the US bullying everyone they can. Nukes get in the way of that, so they have to minimize the spread. Russia helped China and India get nukes, and China helped Best Korea and Iran (they definitely tested one underground recently). Neither cared about non-proliferation.

China could dispense with the whole "they're gonna get nukes!" thing by selling Iran some nukes. What would anybody do about it? Stop buying from China? Fat chance.

Or, get this, become a neutral nation and scrap the entire military save the Coast Guard and the Marines.

I'd do the same, after having the military extrajudicially execute the entire "intelligence community" and any judge that had a problem with it.

Because an existing $800,000,000,000 military budget isn't enough patrol our own borders.

A bunch, and it looks like at least half of them miss.
The battery includes the radar and launcher vehicles and a bunch of support stuff too.

Iran's major problem is that they're 1000km away at the closest and have no easy land attack route, nor a feasible naval approach. This puts everything into the realm of ~$1m+ intermediate range ballistic missiles and large long range drones. Said drones are slow and easy to shoot down with guns, that is, if the Israelis have AA guns. The big question comes down to whether Iran's stockpile and production is bigger than Israel's stockpile and production.

There's no good defense against cheap missiles. It's a money pit no matter how you look at it.

Shooting down missiles is really hard. I once worked with a guy who was a sailor on a new Aegis cruiser of some sort that was undergoing sea trials in the Caribbean. They would fire dummy missiles over the bow from another vessel to test the Phalanx systems. He said that it managed to shoot down about one in four. That's just one boat, and that was a good 30 years ago, but missiles haven't gotten any slower.

It never worked flawlessly. Stuff always got through in non-trivial attacks, and it took lots of interceptor missiles to even get those results. The whole thing is a ridiculous money pit.

That's only the federal one, and unless he shut down the entire agency wholesale, it will still be extremely difficult to build a refinery.

A pilot on youtube pointed out that the landing gear is still down at a very late point in the takeoff, which might indicate hydraulic failure, which might indicate double engine failure. It will be interesting to see if this is Boeing's fault or not.

The problem is much worse than that. Responsible use of C++ is like how Casey Muratori does it, which it not much more than C with function overloading and a slight convenience in making math libraries. Anything more rapidly increases the depth of analysis necessary to understand any given line of code, which becomes a serious problem in large projects.
