The majority of the code for my OBJ parser is around 20 years old now. Basically no updates or maintenance needed during that time.

gentoobro (gentoobro@shitpost.cloud)'s status on Monday, 28-Oct-2024 08:46:53 JST gentoobro The main problem with using a lib for something like an OBJ loader is that learning the lib, its quirks and its bugs often takes longer than just writing your own. And God forbid the library author decides to "update" it and change around the API for no reason.

But it's a fantasy that LLM's will replace any devs. If anything it will just make more work for them, fixing bugs in LLM code generated by non-devs.

Lye? Big deal.
But lye isn't green. Green things are typically dyed because of dangerous or toxic chemicals, like ethylene glycol antifreeze. Which is probably what that is. It breaks down in the environment by itself in 10 days. They literally just spray thousands of gallons of it all over the wings of airliners all the time.

15 characters from the set of 90 on an English keyboard: 3.95x10^29 combinations. Hard to type and remember.
6 words from the Oxford English Dictionary (171476 terms): 2.54x10^31 combinations. Trivial to type and remember.
You want longer passwords, not "harder" passwords.

gentoobro (gentoobro@shitpost.cloud)'s status on Tuesday, 22-Oct-2024 08:33:02 JST gentoobro The churches ignore any scripture that would inconvenience their members.
But Jesus told him, “Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead! Your duty is to go and preach about the Kingdom of God.”
As Jesus was speaking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him. Someone told Jesus, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, and they want to speak to you.” Jesus asked, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” Then he pointed to his disciples and said, “Look, these are my mother and brothers. Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!”
Now, your specific duty (probably) isn't to go be a travelling preacher, and you aren't Jesus himself, but the point is clear: You should not to let errant family members drag you down into their own bad behavior or distract you from the good things that you need to be doing, whatever they are.
Blood creates a bond, but subsequent actions can sever it.
