Pechakucha is a raw HTML template for designing slideshows right in the browser. Quite easy to pimp and to fork, it has been updated thanks to @yann_t with a pdf generation script, and enhanced to support a remote pad to be used as the content source (which we used with @prepostprint folks for our talk at @lgm in Rennes). W is a gem of the indie and old-school web energy with a strong opinion: you can just do whatever you want with it. Developed by Vincent Peugnet who presented it during a @prepostprint meeting in Paris, it is somewhere between a personal #wiki engine and an #indieweb publishing tool. I offered to clean the UI a bit, so that I could use it with my students as a collective wiki (in the steps of @xpub practices). I faced the fact that I am a total dumb at git, but I’m quite happy with the job done with the backend, preserving the good old feeling, and enhancing a bit the experience for authors. J’ai très exactement pensé à cet usage en explorant les hypothèses de scroll state et scroll driven animations ! (Et vite lâché l’affaire de l’expérimentation en me disant que quelqu’un prototyperait ça bientôt…)

Some months ago I asked @raphael if Stolon could be improved and adjusted for my own use, so that I can move out of #codepen and host my sketches on my server. He kindly replied GO! and we went though a wild and fun push / pull game to upgrade the editor, enhance the behavior, allow #pagedjs and #p5js templates. Let’s start with PageTypeToPrint, the web + print thesis template made in PHP with #pagedjs. It has been slowly enhanced through the year, with minor bug fixes, improvements, and even a changelog. It is used, more and more, which makes me really happy. Two recent examples in the wild: Alice Neron used it for the great book Code du numérique, and Saul Pandelakis for his 900 pages HDR thesis. @joachim 🤔 J’avoue n’être pas assez solide sur ces questions. Mais j’ai buté dessus plusieurs fois (et produit du code –que je viens de regarder…– d’une laideur sans nom pour contourner le problème).

Sans doute, mais je n’ai pas trouvé de ressource “propre” sur ce type d’approche. Et je me suis dit que j’étais passé à côté d’un truc, tellement ça me semble pratique de s’appuyer sur une arborescence…

@joachim J’ai résolu ça en ayant un fichier dans chaque dossier-année qui définit une collection pour chaque année.

11ty n'a qu'une très faible (je dirais bien aucune, mais j'suis pas assez spécialiste) conscience de l'arborescence.. Venant de Kirby ou Hugo, c'est très perturbant. Mais le principe des collections (via le fichier de config d'un dossier) peut résoudre ça assez facilement.

C'était il y a bientôt trente ans. Je lisais Gros textes, la revue Silence, je plongeais dans Ya basta, Toni Negri, les publications d'Attac, d'Amnesty ou de l’ACAT. On dansait sur La bête, de Zebda (il est dangereux il a toutes les dents pointues…), on pogotait avec Lofo et on hurlait avec les Bérus à chaque élection. Je militais à Ras l’front, qui publiait La résistible ascension du F. Haine, une affiche déchirée de #JMLP, la déjà vieille ordure, en couverture (décoller/recouvrir des affiches était une de mes principales activités à Ras l’front –on a les combats qu'on peut). Ce soir, j'aurais bien envie de me réjouir, si n'était le douloureux sentiment qu'on n'a rien gagné et qu'on a plutôt beaucoup perdu. Que tout reste encore à faire.

Je n'ai pas tout lu de HTML for people, mais j'ai assez apprécié le caractère assez narratif de l'approche. Intéressant aussi de maintenir le focus principal sur le HTML tout au long du “livre”. Mais comme d'hab quand je croise ce genre de ressources, je me pose mille questions sur ce qu'est la meilleure manière d'aborder ces questions.
