Gifted myself a Flipper Zero as a birthday present on the 8th, looks like I gonna excuse myself that the present didn't arrive in time 😂. 4th day of "package announced" as status.
@BlippyTheWonderSlug nah it's fine, we have a thick skin here and value freedom of speech to the point of defending a mass reported unpopular but still valid opinion, that is until you attack someones rights, dignity or well being :tom_scott: (depending on severity it's a 3 strikes and you're out). We don't believe the fediverse has to be a flower meadow in terms of topics, but still a safe space for everyone.
@alcea@privateger people actually do need to verify the mail. One thing I could do is blocking gmail.com, that would lessen spam registration by 90%. But it's popular by legit users aswell. Looking for a way to get rid of the automation.
@BlippyTheWonderSlug@HistoPol the only things disappearing here are things that are against the 7 rules. Last deleted account was someone comparing the israel/palestine situation to being worse than what hitler did to the jews and writing underneath jews rememberance posts that they had it easier. I don't mind yall being very critical and have controverse takes but that kind of stuff gets you removed, especially when repeating these offenses, also illegal to *lessen* Hitlers cruelty in Germany.
@martijn :catJAM: literally when someone with 1k followers post something postgres is like *hold my beer* and goes through the roof and I'm like wtf are you even doing?
@martijn I should eat more Brussels sprouts. Maybe it is because I'm missing a kitchen in total that I don't cook fresh ATM. New kitchen arrives on my birthday 🫠.
So we just encountered a bug at our Bannerlord mod called Sword & Musket that causes Intel CPUs to mess up unit skins. All well on AMD. Can someone explain this to me I'm having an existential crisis over this. Here is a crappy meme I made for the issue to cope with it.
I've decided to use the spamwave blocklist from mastodon.de after manually reviewing the list (roughly ~100 instances) to reduce the spam our users get.
Not a fan of just blocking tons of instances or using blocklists but this isn't improving by itself.
Tried handpicking repeated spamming instances but it wasn't enough so I went this way now.
It is quite stupid that only hcaptcha is available as captcha service in mastodon. Like I'd give an american machine learning company input from users. Why not do a kocaptcha / response / image implementation in general?
