   The legit to spamvertise users ratio is insane, 1:15. I'd really like a kocaptcha or other selfhosted option for mastodon.

     @alcea @privateger people actually do need to verify the mail. One thing I could do is blocking gmail.com, that would lessen spam registration by 90%. But it's popular by legit users aswell. Looking for a way to get rid of the automation.

     Why not make all regs require email clearance ?

     Or do the "invite link only" thing ?

     I think @privateger has the spam thing figured out (maybe ?)
