@fromjason@mastodon.social based on info from maybe a week ago it is at least around 3k total now but that is still same order of magnitude and I doubt it has crossed 10k yet.

@atomicpoet@atomicpoet.org @barney@mas.to @fediversenews@venera.social Worth noting mas.to admin recently announced their plan is to move from defederatin to just limiting threads.net: https://mas.to/@trumpet/112212159528724033

A THREAD ON THREADS! I’m receiving lots of questions about our position on federation with Threads and realised I haven’t posted on this subject for a while. We have lots of users who do want to federate with Threads, and lots of users who don’t. It’s my job to find a good solution that works for everyone. Our position has always been to start from a defensive stance due to our technical and moderation concerns. So what sort of solution do we think might keep (almost) everyone happy? 1/3

@tokyo_0@mas.to @3dcandy@mastodon.social I do believe blocking them has important effects beyond just stopping them from reading your toots. It creates some incentive for users to join a fediverse instances other than Threads if there is a reasonable amount of users that cannot be reached otherwise.

@tokyo_0@mas.to well he says they need it for server review... so that sounds like they just want an easy way to check the local timeline, this doesn't immediately strike me as an unreasonable ask for deciding on whether to federate with an instance. You're right though that if they want those to be the rules they should offer such a thing on Threads too...

@ATLeagle@mastodon.online are you sure you've lost updates? most #fedipact instances are not taking the nuclear option of blocking most of the #fediverse as far as I know. They just block #Threads.

@ramsey@phpc.social well they won't see your messages from the rest of the fediverse to threads yet anyway

@ramsey@phpc.social yeah it is mostly one-way for now. You do get notified of fediverse likes on Threads but not sure if it tells you who on the other side liked. You might have talked with 0xjessel through his mastodon account at @jessel@universeodon.com
