@HarryNuggets @BowsacNoodle Oh man, woodcraft is a lot more agreeable to me than, say, changing out timing-belts. I have an abiding respect for guys that like doing that sort of thing. Chisels and their proper use are fun to think about on their own merits. -

@BowsacNoodle @HarryNuggets That’s imminently reasonable. I feel like they had little jigs bolted to the drill press table, like as guides - and just steady hands and steel nerves to knock them out. They were generally better at woodworking than me 😂 -

@HarryNuggets @BowsacNoodle My dad and my great-grandpa did a lot of angled dowel joints on a drill press; and I honestly haven’t figured out how he pulled it off. I don’t remember seeing big intricate clamp setups or anything - so when I try to apply the idea myself I’m in over my head 😝
Dowel jigs just kind of solve a lot of those problems.
Japanese joints are mind-blowing. Beyond the sawhorses I’ve not invested in the level of study to pull them off, yet. When the kids are older 🥂 -

@BowsacNoodle @HarryNuggets I’ve been intrigued by those JessEm jigs, and/or the DowelMax jig, and they’re often highly recommended by people that spent the money on them. Dowels are awesome and philosophically pleasing. -

I say it like it’s a thing I do all the time but I’ve done a half-dozen, and haven’t landed on something really specific and repeatable. Still, every one I’ve built has held up perfectly fine for a couple years, in their various tasks. -

One thing to note is they’re listed as an “opposite” of “Barbarian” - which is Classically understood as a statement of language. This is a tremendously powerful fact, rightly understood. -

Traditionally, we understand the symbolism of the True Vine and its Branches as the Communion of Faith. Because we are saved, by Grace, *through* Faith. This is, of course, an Ecclesiological statement. -

The received Ecclesiology isn’t anything I can take credit for; it’s what He did, and passed on to His Apostles, who passed it on to His Disciples, who passed it on to the Bishops, in an unbroken line to the present day. -

I solidly and publicly refute any suggestion that this was my idea, or that I contributed anything to its occurrence.

For a couple months, maybe, I’ve watched as a dozen or so accounts, from a very broad range of perspectives, Traditions or whathaveyou, completely mop the floor with Bob’s tired, milky, Hagee-tier AM Radio judeoMcChristian positions and assertions — and he doesn’t budge an inch. No arc, no character development, no indication that he’s weighed or considered a single thing that didn’t already agree.
And I’ve wondered; holy smokes, if that were *me*, I’d have begun to at least consider the possibility that maybe I’ve missed something. That would seem *natural*, at least, I guess is the word for it. -

@bobbala @konata @Omega_Variant @Owl @AngryWraith I’d bear guilt for the murder of God in the sense of knowing I would almost certainly have acted nigh-identically to Pilate, in his shoes. And Our Lord wouldn’t have had go through with any of it in the first place if not for sinners like myself.
That said, the impulse to actively raise a huge stink in order to have Him executed vis-a-vis statecraft is, admittedly, rather foreign to my own natural constitution. I’m not Righteous by any stretch, but I’d be lying if I said I was inclined specifically toward *that*. But yes, there is guilt in standing idly by and *allowing* it.
But because it happened that way, God directly defeated Death. So I’m quite grateful He did what He did. -

I then presented the Gospel passages relating directly to the points that:

I do not see how this passage, or any of the other passages you quoted, somehow nullifies this position. We’re obviously not just making it up. While I can technically imagine the possibility of some better explanation coming along, I must admit I’ve got no idea how it could possibly refute it, without like redefining definitions of words or something
