@Turkleton its kind of a metaphor for how in the universe large things like stars and gas giants die and their parts coalesce to form new things like planets, in greek mythology its somewhat similar, chronus the titan or god of time eats his children and i think intentionally or unintentionally the greeks were figuring out that time is a fundamental component of space and not just an abstract concept, the giants in nordic mythology are similar to the titans in greek mythology where they both represent primordial chaos, dark energy, seeming nothingness , the void etc , but technically nothing can't exist according to quantum mechanics even before the big bang scientists say there was something and that something was dark energy which is a catch all term for theoretical things we can't perceive but are assumed to be there if that makes sense, its kind of science acknowledging the real nature of the universe and also spiritual or religious reasons in that nothing was not ever a thing and even parts of space where it might appear to be nothing in it is actually populated by dark energy and dark energy is something

@Turkleton Paganism is closer than other religions / philosophies in answering the question of why evil exists because fundamentally it acknowledges how dark energy is inseparable from the physics of the universe, that doesn't mean people should be evil but evil is not just a thing people do but is also a fundamental law of physics like in hermeticism how its an alchemical property and not a question of morality. Loki is evil and was adopted by odin and raised with the other gods and this is kind of like ancient race realism, loki is a different race of supernatural beings than the other supernatural beings raising him and because of his nature he betrays them and kills baldur and plots against humans, also on a more superficial level there is something metaphorical about human nature where people adopted by another race even a race better than them like when a nigger is adopted by a white family will hate their adopted family because its not an environmental things its a genetic thing, they know they're supposed to be with their own. You could also view loki as the father of jews which is kind of a schizo theory but think about what jews are , they're subhumans pretending to be white, jews are adopted by white countries, jews betray white countries, white people kick them out. Jews view themselves as corrupted by goodness because jews are for the most part half white half semitic and they strive to become more jewish i.e. more evil while also blending in with white people by maintaining this perfect alchemical genetic almost perfect 50/50 genetic split regulated through the mother.

@Floydian_Psychology @Turkleton Aye, it makes more sense then the whole freewill thing, An all powerful, all good, and all knowing god, makes no sense, The argument I hear is either self fufiling, (He's good because he's good), or just oh your just wanting, It just makes no sense, While I'm an agnostic athiest Paganism just makes more sense in the aspect of the gods not being all powerful and embodying certain aspects alone, combined with what you said.
