- Embed this notice@Turkleton its kind of a metaphor for how in the universe large things like stars and gas giants die and their parts coalesce to form new things like planets, in greek mythology its somewhat similar, chronus the titan or god of time eats his children and i think intentionally or unintentionally the greeks were figuring out that time is a fundamental component of space and not just an abstract concept, the giants in nordic mythology are similar to the titans in greek mythology where they both represent primordial chaos, dark energy, seeming nothingness , the void etc , but technically nothing can't exist according to quantum mechanics even before the big bang scientists say there was something and that something was dark energy which is a catch all term for theoretical things we can't perceive but are assumed to be there if that makes sense, its kind of science acknowledging the real nature of the universe and also spiritual or religious reasons in that nothing was not ever a thing and even parts of space where it might appear to be nothing in it is actually populated by dark energy and dark energy is something
