    @deprecated_ii Do you think it will ever get good enough to replace coders? I think that’s the biggest hope for its proponents. Either that or the ability to produce predictive models that actually work. I cannot think of another justifiable reason to push LLM’s at such heavy cost.

    @RustyCrab @deprecated_ii That’s good to hear. The gains have been getting smaller from generation to generation from what I’ve been seeing, so it’s looking like there is some kind of plateau or barrier to more effective modeling that needs to be figured out (or not). That plus the model degradation from processing AI data as input I think creates a lot of challenges that haven’t been priced into the AI boom yet

    @sickburnbro At a certain threshold they do. It has to be enough to trigger a behavior change. Like a shock. The gap there is what corporations attempt to capture and it’s bigger if people think everything is getting more expensive. Maybe they’ve pushed things too far and will pull back, but prices are always quick to rise and slow to fall.

    @sickburnbro This has been a big theme across many products. Companies take advantage of the inflationary period by raising prices in excess of the impact inflation has on them. Consumers accept this because they believe it’s a necessary evil. Hopefully there is some rollback at least with food.

    Two of the guys who got laid off from my department got equivalent jobs in 2-4 weeks lol. I’ve been applying to jobs for like 4 months and haven’t even gotten an interview. I outperformed both when they were working with me. The job market is so hostile to Whites it’s unreal.

    @SK1ZM I have been seriously considering this. I’m still working, but my company is limping along. Very likely to be out of business this time next year, so I’ve been looking for another job. I survived the first round of layoffs, but there’s more coming for sure. I can’t even get my resume reviewed at a place I worked at before even after speaking with some director level people I am on good terms with.
