@sickburnbro This has been a big theme across many products. Companies take advantage of the inflationary period by raising prices in excess of the impact inflation has on them. Consumers accept this because they believe it’s a necessary evil. Hopefully there is some rollback at least with food.

@John_Darksoul consumers don't "accept" though - and that's the crucial part. They pull back or horde. This then drives inconsistant revenue streams for the companies who then look to raise prices again to make up for the shortfalls.

@John_Darksoul for an essential yes. But most things people pay for today in the US aren't essential. People can eat less food and not die.

@sickburnbro At a certain threshold they do. It has to be enough to trigger a behavior change. Like a shock. The gap there is what corporations attempt to capture and it’s bigger if people think everything is getting more expensive. Maybe they’ve pushed things too far and will pull back, but prices are always quick to rise and slow to fall.

@sickburnbro I used to buy 24 packs of diet soda and could get them for $8 before joepedo and his bag of (((tricks))) showed up. I've seen it as high as $19 lately.
I've completely switched to alternate stuff and it's boggled my mind anybody still buys things like this. I mean I've seen 2 liter bottles for $3 and I think more. Hell...
