     @tyler Kids can compartmentalize better than adults. It's sort of weird. One of mine asked me if they were allowed to be friends with someone "even though they have black skin".
     
     I had said zero racial conversations with them at that point outside of historical education, but that was enough. Also the kid was Italian. 🤌🏻

     @BowsacNoodle On a more serious note, does anyone have that really well written “message to my son” thing about avoiding blacks? I remember reading it a long time ago but I can’t find it anymore

     @BowsacNoodle id start with seeing thier understanding of the meme. if they get, never relax... then it's time for the serious talk. they are to the point then need the okay from you to take precautions. since they've been indoctrinated their whole school life not to. if it's their understanding a funny picture with naughty words funny. then you'd need to evaluate how they are going to respond and how new info will trickle to your younger kids.

     @VIcFury I taught my kids to look for signs of bad people and fake friends, and I've taught them a more accurate and nuanced view of history and race relations. They know how to differentiate good and bad people without having to told heuristics (this group bad / this group good). They have strong pattern recognition, and they figured things out for themselves in the safest ways possible (hence the reason for the question).
