1. use it to try and access a forbidden instance
2. get a weird error
3. ask about the weird error in a Tusky forum
4. suffer the suspicions of the Tusky forum members. "That's an odd error. What instance are you trying to connect to?"
5. be denounced as a heretic when the instance is confirmed.
It doesn't say "I'm bigoted towards this instance so I refuse to use it." It lays a trap for the unwary - who are, as always, the LEAST deserving of the kind of hate they'll get, because the more 'deserving' would dodge the trap. -

@Kerosene I never have. I think it's malicious encouragement. As a way of encouraging cult victims to cut off their families, instead of saying "don't talk to them", you encourage cult victims to offend their families and to find family interactions unpleasant. -

if there's a point here, it's that the danger of these online movements is that it draws together kids who are very naturally (for kids) LARPing, and letting them gaslight each other into thinking there's something real. @augustus that part's more understandable. I'm talking about the ex-Obama official or whatever who harassed a food truck vendor. "You're a terrorist" translates to "You're a Hamas supporter, and Hamas is a terrorist organization". Even if it's a war, they're using tactics like taking female hostages ... which Israel is also doing, at scale. People following the conflict hear that Israel's releasing some number of children in a "prisoner swap" and they don't bat an eye.
But, it's very weird to say that Hamas is evil because they kill children, and in the very next sentence say that it's good to kill children. -

@lina @Kerosene it's a children's game that I didn't see after early gradeschool until vtubers (girls, therefore not gay by definition) started playing it because it was one of the few non-mahjong multplayer games on some Switch classic gaming collection.
But it's definitely not an American plot because "Uno" is a Spanish word. Now, Spanish-speaking countries in the Americas might infamously have lots of drugs and CIA-trained cartels, but ...

How do you comply with insanely inconsistent, incoherent moral demands?
You just do whatever the demander says, as he says it.
That's the only way to do it. You can't internalize any rules to follow. You can't think through prior demands and make logical inferences. You have to receive instructions and make sure you don't fall offline for too long lest you drift into heresy.
When a leftist makes a moral argument, this is all I see now.

@Senator_Armstrong @Griffith they don't need to learn it. How literate do you think people really are? The issue is governments wanting to improve the situation, vs. wanting to keep peope ignorant. When the 20% that learn it feel comfortable talking about what they've learned without getting shut out, the 80% that can't will still remember some aphorisms, and still be able to tell you that counterfeiting doesn't create wealth.
