@dansup I think, Pixelfed goes "viral" because people are currently searching for an Instagram alternative, which Pixelfed is, but Mastodon, Lemmy etc. obviously are not.

Mastodon had also a larger rise of accounts (and, incidentally, still does as seen by German Unis shifting right now) after the shift of X/Twitter.

Every platform has different target audiences and expectations tethered to it.

@dansup Could we have non-picture posts on Pixelfed again, please? Just as an option, so one could follow all posts of e.g. posts from Mastodon or Lemmy accounts. :BlobhajHeart: :BlobhajShock:

I for one do rarely use Pixelfed, but still support it financially. There needs a plethora of options to make the fediverse attractive! :blobmiou:

@dansup @loops Well, you do have a thing for a bit over ambitious dates and then postponing. Nonetheless, your communication and interaction with the community is frequent, and in my eyes, very good!

In this regard, @Mastodon could take a leaf out of your book. In general, regularly (and even repeatedly) posting about features, maybe with small gifs / animations would be great, though with the limited resources, that is already a stretch.

Seems one should donate to the projects one cares about
