We're living in the behavioral sink:

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behavioral_sink

Everything is downstream from culture, and culture is rotting.

So the solution has to include addressing culture.

Start with school choice, and make the tax credit truly only available to those who earn income rather than a handout

      Behavioral sink
"Behavioral sink" is a term invented by ethologist John B. Calhoun to describe a collapse in behavior that can result from overpopulation. The term and concept derive from a series of over-population experiments Calhoun conducted on Norway rats between 1958 and 1962. In the experiments, Calhoun and his researchers created a series of "rat utopias" โ€“ enclosed spaces where rats were given unlimited access to food and water, enabling unfettered population growth. Calhoun coined the term "behavioral sink" in a February 1, 1962, Scientific American article titled "Population Density and Social Pathology" on the rat experiment. He would later perform similar experiments on mice, from 1968 to 1972. Calhoun's work became used as an animal model of societal collapse, and his study has become a touchstone of urban sociology and psychology in general. Experiments Calhoun's early experiments with rats were carried out on farmland at Rockville, Maryland, starting in 1947. While Calhoun was working at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in 1954, he began numerous experiments with rats and mice. During his first...

    > It looks like the cause of the disease, but it's just the current carrier, like a zombie beetle carrying around wasp larvae. I'm not even sure it's "patient zero", I think those pod people ate up organized religion before they caused it to collapse

    Good insight.

Unfortunately, the "Struggle Sessions" of Mao and Killing Fields tell us it will likely be doubling down and more extreme versions of current leftist ideology until everything collapses.

Demand for physical media formats is surging.

Many are attributing this to nostalgia, but that isn't right. Most of the demand is coming from generations that weren't even alive when vinyl ruled the music scene, for example.

It is a rejection and retreat from the digital dystopia. Physical isn't easier, it's not cheaper, and isn't objectively better than digital. But people want to touch and feel it. They want to own it.

So I'm surprised there isn't a new physical music format coming to rival cassettes, CDs, and vinyl.

I was just kind of musing that is easy to understand mental health issues when things are the way they are in current year, but it's kind of reverse.

Things are all backwards because of all the insane ideologies

How much of the current general mental health crisis is directly attributable to people trying to navigate life with a warped understanding of how everything works?

Saw someone suggest that a lot of coding work now is reviewing/fixing garbage junior level code.

With AI you remove the junior coder and just review the garbage AI code instead

Maybe AI is going to kill Open Source ideas?

People like sharing with other humans. They don't like creating a thing for an "AI" to ingest for the sake of boosting a company's stock price

"Children's stories" used to be bleak and awful. Shockingly dark.

Now they are all focused on being "nice" and happy endings.

How did Creed get such a bad rep anyway? The lead singer had his demons, but the music holds up.
