What other #mastodon instances do people recommend?
Mastodon social has removed my posts three times now regarding the #genocide in #gaza.
My main topics - computing, generative art, python, human rights 🏳️🌈, climate emergency, food, coffee, pizza, anti fascism, anti imperialism, anti colonialism, music, dance, photography, graphics, UX design, typography, art and its history, .. and loving books.
And maths!
I like to discover new things, not sure if small instances limit discovery?
In my experience starting from the conceptual "big picture" of risk (assessment, appetite, management, etc) ...
Then within that painting the picture of common tasks, governance, controls, validation, etc .. provides a useful "map" that is applicable to any scenario.
Then finally "instancing" these with examples specific to data science, engineering and app dev illustrates the concepts.
The bottom up approach too often seen in the dev community isn't helpful in my experience.
I thought perhaps you had paraphrased, so I had a look.
You're right. The dev said "no".
What an ugly attitude.
Even if this doesn't effect me directly, I'm not going to recommend GNOME to anyone, because this attitude is not something I want to inflict on anyone else, nor reward it.
The word "centrist" didn't really sink in until I started seeing privileged people
- in the USA ignoring/denying the genocide their president has enabled
- in France not willing to work with the left to defeat the far right
- in the UK, speaking out against the disruption caused by environmental protestors because "economy", even supporting laws that erode our democratic rights to protest
to me "centrist" had come to mean dangerous through ignorance and selfishness
