So they cut the profit sharing program (which my department got cut from ages ago).

That wasn’t nearly enough! To make more money, they realized that rather than wasting money buying a truck, hiring and then training drivers, and then paying them – it was cheaper to hire smaller fly-by-night companies to haul freight. So they are slowing down their hiring process – and since we have a 30%+ turnover rate, in no time at all, we’ve been seeing mostly 3rd parties in our yards now.

Buuuuuuut there is a driver shortage, lol. Ok, sure.

@memes This is an adorable picture but the trucker shortage is 100% fake and has to do with suppressed wages and working conditions. It’s not that there aren’t drivers, its that their aren’t drivers willing to live in a sleeper cab for pennies.

Bleh, I live in a gross city. Walmart doesn’t, but a lot of grocery stores have cops in them now for this kind of reason.

@meeper The thing that annoys me about is it is that it is fundamentally a lie, you can’t really make a meat alternative. Just make good food without meat in it, lots of such meals exist. Trying to be like, “vegetarian chili” is impossible. Just make something else.

It has to stop.

@meeper Indian food is easily the best example of this done properly, because there is plenty of indian dishes that I willingly order and enjoy.

A dish made to be made without meat is good (lots of pasta is like this too), because its made to be made with such ingredients.

Vegan burgers, or god forbid, vegan hotdogs are the inventions of crazy people.
