@HauntedOwlbear how do you find these sites hahaha! like i only knew a few programming ones where its real people blogging. i guess you gotta look through all the posts on review sites and find ones that seem like actual info and then remember to check them later when you need something

how do you go about finding general information now that helpful websites are filed with human and ai generated garbage?

i'm trying to find out if these cheap sunglasses i got can protect against UV or anything else sun+eye harmful even though they don't seem to be polarized. how do you search for this without getting 1000 websites that are just lists of other bits of general information?

like yeah i can read science wiki pages and sorta guess myself, but often the answers are both scientific and practical. like "yes but sunscreen on skin is way more important than eye safety"

have to say after reading i don't really get it, its a lot of the same democracy / libertarian communist takes that i feel like i got away from some years ago. though im amenable to cool media projects in general, i think a good form is something more like unicorn riot than it is a virtual news paper.

@hakan_geijer do you have links about corsi-rosenthal boxes or other diy covid air filters? obviously i can make one by following short videos but i wouldn't know any common pitfalls and would like to read up on the science a bit

its funny that doing dev on linux still requires both curl into a root shell (hilariouly precarious security), but also manually copying pgp signatures and doing checksums (manually secured at a high level)

@anarchopunk_girl features list its pretty strong these days? i think if you are making real low scale 'indie' aesthetic games its by capable compared to unity. the ux fucking sucks, worse than unity, but it also seems quicker and easier in some ways. much easier to make editor tools yourself. it really depends what you wanna do. getting on consoles/mobile is painful everywhere except unity, but if im just making shit to put up on itch i dont care. im not a pro user of godot though!

here's how i majorly appraise a game engine: does the engine's editor actually present custom views for each workflow instead of cramming it into the inspector?
