this unity thing is funny because i've 'switched' heavily to unreal in the last two years; i just really prefer the philosophy of the editor and the structure of your scene as well as feeling like their commitment to their features we real (no fucking URP/HDRP vaporware bullshit). but i was just thinking the other day if i actually dove back in on any of my existing projects i might spend a few days trying to recreate the basics of them in godot 4 as a test...
@anarchopunk_girl 100% not doomer, it's concerned with realistic and sober action to take. i think it has some anti-civ vibes but more in the way that a lot of critiques that anti-civ has are right (large scale ecological destruction is built into state society, and that sucks!)
"a punk movie that understands being a punk isn’t just about being a charismatic sociopath who does a lot of drugs. being a punk is also about half-heartedly doing a pushup, walking around a forest despondently kicking grass, and getting really into gardening but being kind of shitty at it"
hanging out with some nice but very normal careerist people seems to have triggered some deep seeded depression again. since i could be doing the same as them (working full time, moving up some job ladder) i feel like we're kind of similar, and that terrifies me! after a few hours you realize they dont have any life outside of work and going on vacations from work. even as much as i shirk and try to do my own thing i feel scared that i cling to comfort too much and drift towards that position
- follow lots of accounts early on, and know it's fine to unfollow later. this helps build out your own visibility of the network - caption your images, it's really helpful in multiple ways - you can use the content warning (CW) feature to make longer posts without spamming the timeline. it's not just for objectionable material
@ramonita that's fucking terrible, for something actually super useful. do ppl here just assume its the sani's job to know that and no one else might need it in a pinch? like maybe people get hurt outside of demos (shocker)
my pixelfed world is just super dead, cant seem to get critical mass of people to follow still, reminds me of being on a small instance back in 2018 on masto
i really love ian hubert's style. he's developed this over many years working with photos and other camera relative trickery to be incredibly efficient in creating massive 3d scenes in blender. this is almost all just clever phototexure use and simple extrude/bevel/edgeloop kind of modelling
