   @dantescanline I wasn't keeping up with the Indymedia business, but the sheer scale and variety of virtual newspapers as a project, as opposed to narrower and more focused investigative orgs like UR, is that they really do suffer for the absence of an actual editorial team.

   I'm trying not to impose media worker snobbery, but the lack of a supporting infrastructure (direct democracy is fine for this) is really punishing if you're writing.

     have to say after reading i don't really get it, its a lot of the same democracy / libertarian communist takes that i feel like i got away from some years ago. though im amenable to cool media projects in general, i think a good form is something more like unicorn riot than it is a virtual news paper.

     fuck.. there was an article going around about the demise of indymedia, people talking about it relating to the threads+fediverse situation. can't find the damn link anywhere, can't remember enough info to find it.
