@GossiTheDog Is this the time to admit that I set up a lot of the co-op Internet; including a lot of the sendmail configuration, firewall and proxy server?

Of course this was last millennium when it was called CWS and had no computer security function. I can still remember the firewall's root password!

@ryanc I do think some people just require different amounts of sleep, I pretty much average 6.5 hours of sleep a night and have done since I started wearing a smart watch at night (~2019). T'other half gets over 8 and I know people who seem to need 10.

I'm not too fussed: I go to bed when I'm tired and don't use an alarm for 3 days out of the week. It just means I get a couple of hours of "me time" every day.

@HauntedOwlbear I've been messing with using a lavalier mic and one single earbud in. Having over the ear headphones either makes my voice sound funny (even with passthrough) or presses on my glasses in a way that gets painful quite quickly.

Just to be difficult I attached the mic to my clothes instead of holding in front of me like a lot of video makers do for some weird reason.

@ryanc I was on tenterhooks and now I feel all let down.

@HauntedOwlbear there are places for keyword searches. My degree's final project was on the similarity of exosolar systems to our solar system, and there's a lot of weirdo language used in academia.

Though it was the child in me that put in a paragraph about why "Neptune-like" is preferred over "Uranus-like". I even ended the last sentence with an interrobang.

Thinking back the last sentence probably dropped me a few marks, but it was worth it.

@ryanc Anybody who's tried to get a web page working on all browsers will have voted CSS.

It makes even the most complex cryptography look simple.

@HauntedOwlbear Character's always earnt my "most meh DT" album award. Dry Run, Lost to Apathy and One Thought are the high points.

It's saying something when the B-sides on the Lost to Apathy single were (IMO) better than the album versions they are based on.

@HauntedOwlbear Haven is one of my favourites too as it was the first DT album I bought just after it came out out.

My previous experience of DT was a taped copy of the Gallery that someone who I shan't name sent me.

Haven is really the album that resparked my interest in the band.

@neil I used to be a "no" until the last time I flew for work, where you have to take you laptop out and put it by itself in a tray. The person next to me in security had the same model of laptop.

So I added just one sticker to make a simple identifier.

@HauntedOwlbear I forgot about the release just listening to it now.

I also wonder how many anglophones will call it "grief" instead of "greif".

@HauntedOwlbear not making a black metal cover and then teaching $sproglet to play it?

(I *would* do this, but both of my sprogs are better at playing music instruments than I would ever be and I've already had far too much influence over their music tastes.)

@HauntedOwlbear I had the album on repeat listening just after it came out, but it's moved down to "oh, I recognise this". But that may be more that I've found other bands in different genres since then.
