@Gargron I believe it is very much what you saw as a weakness which was the redeeming factor. Only history will tell whether an extrovert type is better in a capitalistic system that is designed to push all their wrong buttons. I hope the new CEO has half as much self-awareness as you do. When i see the number of people talking about #Bluesky on #Mastodon, i realise how many actually haven’t been cured from #FOMO. Tbh i did have fomo after I left birdchan in early 2022, but i was fully immunised a couple of weeks in: the idea of spending so many hours on #socialmedia does not appeal. What people see as a drawback on the #fediverse (not enough frenzy) is exactly what attracts me. No #algorithm to tie me to my phone and still enough of a community to feel connection.
