Excusez-moi?! I'm still on Mastodon, still working on Mastodon--I love it here. Seems like the journalist has now removed the paragraph from the article, but has not published a retraction, and the false statement is still in the audio version. Where did they get this idea from?

@julia @txtx I am not asking you, (presumably, from context) a US resident, to stop buying from US companies, and I doubt anyone else is either, as that would make little sense. When I say "us", I refer to people in Europe, where I am.

@julia @txtx I’m not a geopolitical analyst so take what I say with a grain of salt, but the US abducted the leader of a sovereign nation what feels like two weeks ago while threatening to annex a European country just last week. Unless we reduce our reliance on US products, services and infrastructure, our options for defensive measures will be severely limited.

@julia I agree Tidal is a nice app and much better than Spotify. I just don't think it's wise for Europeans to rely on US infrastructure in the medium to long term. The sooner and more services we can replace, the better.

@slatey Could you elaborate?

I'm going to give #Qobuz a try as an alternative to #Tidal so there's one less subscription going to a US company. The last.fm integration seems to be working and all my music seems to be there. Wish the app icon on iOS was a bit prettier since it's going on my task bar...
