So I guess everyone -- at least, Safari, Chrome, and Edge -- decided to simply ignore the "don't let websites pop down their fucking stupid and fucking annoying menu to let them spam me with fucking notifications that nobody ever fucking wants" preference, despite keeping the preference there and letting me change it.

Is there a way to disable the god damned fucking "You should subscribe to notifications for this website!" drop-down at the browser level? Safari, Chrome, Firefox?

@libreleah We're still sorting out the 6-figure tax bill we had last year, cash is low 😄.

@cstross I get the bulk of my ebooks from Amazon --- because I give out so many of them. Only two vendors let me buy gifts; only one of those lets me buy in bulk.

This does not make me happy, but the reality is: I can stop gifting ebooks, or I can continue to use Kindle.

@libreleah I need to get a couple of servers here, in Ireland — one for building, one for NASing.
