Do I tell them I've been working with that tech stack for 20 years? Or just let them go and see how they do?

I am curious about the Social Web Foundation. I am concerned about it too. I think it will be tricky to do what they want to do without Big Social putting their thumb on the scales.

I've been doing a bit more reading on @aral 's Small Web concept. The Kitten project is pretty cool. I'm going to play around with it this month, kick the tires, and see how it is to use.

(I know it's early days of the project, but it has a lot of promise)

@chris My use case is mostly communication (text, phone, secure messaging like Signal). I'm not a photographer; I don't use it for entertainment besides reading books occasionally.

TIL that, according to the source I found, the word ‘entrepreneur’ originated around 1828 and meant “manager or promoter of a theatrical production.” I find this to be an accurate take on what we have seen in the tech world in the past 30 years.
