So I would take a bite, chew and after swallowing, look at my feet and say, “Here it comes!” True story.

One of the best things abt being in my 50s is that I care not one whit abt “dressing appropriately for my age.”

I wore this skirt downtown one day & encountered a 6 y/o girl who was also wearing a full tulle skirt. As we waited for the traffic light to change, each of us looked at the other & said, “I LIKE YOUR SKIRT!” at the same time.

Do something today that makes YOU happy. Your genuine happiness will add to the positive energy for all of us. We’re all connected, you know.

Yesterday I bought a jumbo wand of bubbles on sale at Joann Fabrics when I picked up my candle making supplies.

Just now, I released a wand or two of bubbles while standing on the subway platform. A second later, a young Black woman got my attention, pulled a small bottle of bubbles out of her bag, smiled and blew a few soapy spheres into the breeze.

Just witnessed a 20-30something man (built like a brick shithouse) helping an infirm man using a walker successfully navigate the ramp in order to board the bus. Kindness is fucking sexy as hell.

Correct. Heaven forfend our republic should have a Black woman occupying our highest office. Racism is a poison. It will end us as a nation unless we address and correct it.

Watchers of AMC’s Mad Men may remember the tagline Don Draper uses to land Jaguar: “Finally…something beautiful you can own.” His target market was men who kept separate bank accts from their wives, among other things. This demographic thinks Trump is the way to go. They’re sitting on SCOTUS and they were among those swarming the Capitol on January 6th. They believe that only heteronormative white “Christian” men deserve civil rights and the rest of us better remember our place.

Stir some fake shit and then scarper for a country that is literally, actively working to undermine his country of origin. Of course, the cherry on top of this shit sundae is that he was a sworn officer of the law — laws he feels within his power to obey and break at whim.

@WarnerCrocker I can’t even imagine being that close to the events of the day. He uses the word “surreal” a lot, but it’s bc he’s not able to divulge much more (due to security protocols). Surreal seems like such an inadequate term for the unspooling we all witnessed that day. I kept streaming until 4:00 a.m. January 7 to make sure the votes were certified. In my entire life as an American citizen, I have NEVER experienced anything like the trauma of watching my republic actively under attack.
