I think that the term “rapid unscheduled disassembly” just has a Streisand Effect when applied to rocket failures.

It’d be better to just say it exploded, or burnt up on reentry—we don’t know why but will analyse the data collected.

I was hoping antitrust action would force Meta to divest Instagram. Not much chance of that now given Zuckerberg’s toadying to the incoming US Administration.

I deleted my Threads profile. I like Instagram and I get value from it, but it may have to be jettisoned at some point in the near future.

You can now delete your Threads account without also zapping your Instagram account. That wasn’t the case before.

You can also Deactivate your account. This hides everything but leaves it there in the background in case you want to use it again in the future. See the picture with the options.
