I don’t know much about Australian parties and politics, but the election results look like a good result for progressive politics.
Fair reading?

@WarnerCrocker The fishing boat and arrest scene is gold ☺️
@WarnerCrocker I loved it all ☺️
Some people who are into ballet are miffed that the Étoile show isn’t focused on actual ballet performances.
That would be a hard sell for the streamers, I think.
The show is a workplace dramedy that happens to be set in 2 ballet companies.
A much better choice to pull in a bigger audience. And at the same time, introduce them to some ballet and the intense work that goes on in rehearsals.
I’ve never watched or been to a ballet. I loved the show. Highly recommended.
@WarnerCrocker 😳🫣😳
@WarnerCrocker Ah well…
Carole Cadwalladr on the end of The Observer.
@WarnerCrocker I’d forgotten that! Ironic, given the real subject.
Okay. This is good. 30 minutes in. It’s actually a dramedy about marketing. https://mastodon.social/@ianRobinson/114366221046036753
Surprising no one who has been paying attention.
"Elon Musk’s “department of government efficiency” and the Trump administration have spared the jobs of US Department of Transportation employees who provide support services for spacecraft launches by Musk’s companies, SpaceX and Starlink – a revelation that raises a new round of conflict of interest questions around Doge.”

Still no news of Pachinko S3 being green-lit at Apple TV+.

Carole Cadwalladr returned to TED. Didn’t hold back.
“TED has just released [her talk] as the first talk from the conference. I got to name what is happening for what it is: a coup. I call the Silicon Valley companies who attend this conference and even sponsor it, collaborators who are complicit in a regime of fear and cruelty. And I accuse Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, who is talking here on Friday not just of data theft but data rape.”

China to Reduce Imports of Hollywood Films as Trade War Escalates - The Hollywood Reporter
The China Film Administration said it would "moderately reduce" the number of American films the country imports in response to Donald Trump's tariffs.
I can't boost this twice. So I quote it instead.
Evergreen Ian Dunt post 😊

@WarnerCrocker They can claim all they want via PR. It’s bollocks. See https://bsky.app/profile/adamrutherford.bsky.social/post/3lmcgqatb5c24 and Adam Rutherford’s other recent posts on the topic.
@WarnerCrocker The industry has been building a lot of capacity. Not just Microsoft.
Maybe too much, and a realignment is necessary.
Writer, walker, atheist, cinema lover, hobby musician, science junkie, perpetual maths student, cricket fan, chess patzer. I post about new music a LOT! #Music #NewMusic
