The first time I went to see a film in a cinema in the USA I was surprised at how people vocally responded to events on screen, and the applause at the end. It was in Manhattan.

These are not things I’ve ever encountered in the cinema in Northern Ireland. Or the few times I’ve been to the cinema in England.

Is it common in US theatres?

I wasn’t expecting to read accounts of 18th century conspiracy theories in Europe and the USA that are basically identical to the ones being used by right leaning politicians and provocateurs today.

History is in cyclical. Sadly.

Apparently things are being said at the Trump 1930’s cosplay rally at MSG in New York that would have been unsayable in 2014.

We all knew that the worst people were suppressing their true views on a lot of subjects.

They’re not suppressing their views now.

It’s going to be hard to put the lid back on the populist/nationalist, box. Irrespective of what happens in the USA election.

A ridiculously significant proportion of the population share terrible views about other humans.

It’s tough up north. Already down to only 10.5 hours between sunrise and sunset here. And 9.5 hours were they are in Norway. 😴
