@cstross yeah, i mean it wouldn’t make sense, the expenses would be huge, but the technology was there more or less? If they had [checks Wikipedia] typerwiters and rotary printing presses basic gears wouldn’t be too difficult.

@obviousdwest @randahl Ukraine is scrapping obsolete equipment and doing EOD for USA. They should be paid for it, the “help Ukraine budget” should increase whenever they accept something the U.S. would only have to dismantle. Seriously.

@cstross Exactly. Since when to marketers get to choose what technologies are (not just are called, _are_)? It's as if we called cars hovercars because at some point they might, and most of the car isn't touching the ground after all. They're not _attached_, hence they hover!
