There is a simple answer to what this is about. In Trump's Amerika, by the 2028 election, the democratic party will simply be outlawed. Not at all improbable, as this is already being explored in Florida, though thru a different path.

@yogthos that's close to 2/3 orbital speed. And at 30km up, that's down to 1% atmospheric pressure. A lovely place to launch into space. An air breathing engine on a re-usable booster that flies and can land like a plane it could be great for launching a rocket powered glider with a payload the rest of the way to orbit.

@freakazoid we already had entire tribal communities secretly migrate to Canada last time. I expect we will see even more of this. Whites didn't even notice last time because people from different tribal groups would "fill in" at events like Paul Bunyan day. Apparently, to whites, we all look the same ;).

@freakazoid @argv_minus_one speaking of which, actually Trumps poll numbers are rising fastest among minorities. If you fail to understand why, you have NO HOPE to prevent it, either. I do not even know what the dems need to do, actually, but it is clear what they ARE doing will assure a Trump victory much like 2016, and so they MUST do something different. I think it would help if they actually listened to constituents rather than donors, though.

@khinsen @PaniczGodek @ramin_hal9001 @civodul @janneke @akkartik having a decent scoped toolkit for writing cross-platform composable real ui's rather than regurgitated web crap running in a pseudo-browser garbage runtime or something truly monstrous like Qt, and being able to easily bundle / package for delivery, is all I ever want to see. Especially if it can also do X11 natively. GNUStep actually comes to mind, but this may have more glamour :).

@ninawillburger they probably were similarly flanked, by worker dwellings, when they were first built, too... what is old is new again :).

@tio If I would call America something, it may well be the land of stolen children as it is so common. I was removed from my birth family when I was 3, shipped off to a privileged elderly white couple, and did not see or know any of them until well after I was 30.

@tio Russell Means once said you are free to be anything you want to be in America, except an American Indian. For us, and despite laws like ICWA, child removal in particular remains a prevalent tool for state governments to take American Indian children who are then provided to for-profit adoption agencies to sell to (often out of state) white families. This issue was the dominant one our tribal government had to deal with. The US takes immigrant children at the border, too.

@strypey in truth ANY other candidate the dems could have ran would have done so, too. They could have ran Jimmy Carter, or even a dead Kennedy, and won. As I said widely back in the spring of 2016, the ONLY thing that even makes a Trump presidency possible was a Clinton candidacy. That also campaign drove voters away, too.

@argv_minus_one and I agree it may be the final year, because the institutional political class is far too stupid and too committed to / compromised by it's own donors to save itself let alone anyone else.
