@splitshockvirus @LinuxGamer Everyone on Starnix has had this issue. Even me. On Mastodon we're fine.

The new UI for #Mastodon v4 sucks! The sidebar on mobile takes up space (making the images smaller), and to log out, you can't go to the menu tab, you have to go to settings, or to the compose menu.
And on desktop, if your display is too small, you are not able to scroll to see the rest of the menu on the left, and if small enough, it will think it's a tablet and it will be a larger version of mobile.

Personally, I'm staying right here on Mastodon v3, with glitch-soc. It's too bad a lot of instances already upgraded to v4, let alone staying on the default Mastodon.

@feditips This hasn't made it obvious that you can sign up for mastodon.online at https://mastodon.online/about, but if you try to click "Create account" while in this interface, you'll be redirected to https://joinmastodon.com/servers instead.

https://mastodon.social is also open for signup, alongside mastodon.online.

@thelinuxcast Or Odysee has fallen out of favor. Maybe you need to try PeerTube; there's always @tilvids.

What's happening to #Tutanota could eventually happen to your email provider as well. Users of the #email provider were banned from signing up for #Microsoft Teams and #Crunchyroll. This is how they lock us into #Gmail.
Eventually, in the name of "fighting spam" they will block all email providers, especially those on custom domains, unless the domain just happens to be associated with one of the big companies, such as Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Amazon, Comcast and Zoho.

P.S. Since #DuckDuckGo launched their email service today, who knows if they'll be able to get away for it for much longer.

@mint @p Or, you could use Ad and Tracker blockers (and a good enough browser, probably LibreWolf), and you won't have to deal with all of this. Surprised they were okay with their user experience going down.
