@coolboymew I have a less than legal copy of Touhou 08: Imperishable Night. Story is…supposed to make sense?…somehow? The music is awesome and easy to recall. Game is hard, even on easy (well, later on, at least). Love it.

@coolboymew Waiting for DBS chapters is a little hard, and so is waiting for D-Frag, but Black Lagoon is all over the place. Rock needs to purify and wife up Revy already. Actually, all three of those are currently being dragged out due to incomplete ships (DBS with Mai x Trunks, D-Frag with Kazama and Takao/Funubori/Prez/whoever, Black Lagoon with Rock x Revy).

@coolboymew Neither can I. So, I won’t. I’m getting really tired of “ongoing series,” since they seem to be more and more taking more than an entire human generation to complete, even without being long. Or, they are really long, but unnecessarily so, because the author isn’t good at planning, even if he/she has a plan, in the first place. Then the endings suck, if they happen at all.
I kind of wish the ones that have been going for around a decade could just take a year or whatever and thoroughly plan out the entirety of the rest of the series and then hire several professional artists to work on multiple chapters simultaneously after the drafts are complete and just pound it out over a couple of years, instead of yet another decade with a chapter per month, IF THAT. 😩

@thegreatape @coolboymew Whatever the cause, it’s real. During my time on Tumblr, I saw a mom who was an avid SonAmy shipper. She looked about how you’d expect.
SonAmy is the archetypical toxic ship from what I’ve seen and what my instincts tell me. If only Sonia wasn’t his sister or whatever. Or go for Sally. Literally anybody but Amy. She is solid “die alone” material and I think that, combined with her relational tocicity, is why so many Tumblrite females identify with her and the ship.

@coolboymew MTV did a thing like this with Jack Black and a couple others, where they edited the Council at Rivendell scene and Jack is an elf who got drunk and had a professional piercer give him a Prince Albert with The One Ring and they try to get it back.
Kinda funny, pretty crude, but sorta worked. Peter Jackson even introduced it.

I just read the first couple chapters and I thought it’d be about her being a Middle-Schooler with nipple pasties and sexually molesting several other girls her age while discovering S&M porno mags and being blackmailed by a demon familiar using sexually explicit kompromat (Twitter’s favorite!) to do all this.
But, no, it’s because “their“ genre is being made for people that are not them. And this likely won’t teach them empathy and sympathy with the plight of other nerds and fans of things, because their stuff is progressive while everything else isn’t (“and you have to point it all out,” too).

@Bead @coolboymew I’ve been occasionally watching the original Johnny Quest with my family and it’s soundtrack sounds pretty similar. It’s amazing what they did with such a small budget and team. Good writing, good art, decent animation, and going for solid realism in a world of only zany stylized animation.
I’ll have to check out this show, too.
