We must never forget the Holocaust.

On #HolocaustRemembranceDay, we remember the six million Jewish women, men and children, hundreds of thousands of Roma, and all other victims of the Holocaust.

Today we mark the 80 years since the liberation of the Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.

It is our duty to teach future generations about European history, including its darkest chapters.

Remove the share to X/Twitter button from your sites, if you no longer want to be associated in any way to a social network run by a billionaire that thinks it ok to do a Nazi salute.

I don’t have a strong opinion here, and will lean on your recommendations. What’s the reason to choose one over another?

I only added OGG recently, swapping out AAC because the proprietary codec wasn’t supported on some versions of Linux.

And, I’m only using the default encoding the FFMpeg used, so I’ll have to double check the details to be certain.

@cwebber @The_Icarian Correct, Dorsey is gone, specifically because Bluesky wanted more moderation than he was comfortable with. So that's a good sign, even though I'm still wary of the platform.

Today you'll hear many people quote the "I have a dream" speech (including people on the right) but fewer people quote this:

I realize money plays a role. A big role. But don't make the mistake of taking tech bro's as our friends.

The relationship is utilitarian at best. Tech bro's don't "invest" in open source because they believe in its ideals, they do it because it gives them the means to do whatever they like. And this is seldom something good or desirable.

Those are the same people that do one mass layoff after the next one whenever it suits them.

They are not our friends. Jack Dorsey should not be welcome.

Why is this such a problem?

Because like all tech billionaires he has an agenda which is incompatible with the ideals of open source. Giving him a platform where be can speak about his interest, despite not having contributed to the community is acting against the interest of the open source community as a whole.

You wouldn't invite a fossil fuel lobbyist to a renewable energy panel either, would you?
