Als ich vor über 10 Jahren das letzte Linux installiert hatte, war der Prozess ganz gut von Laien zu bewältigen, wenn man ein bisschen Geduld und die Anleitung überflogen hatte.

Inzwischen ist die größte Herausforderung, im BIOS das Booten vom USB-Stick zu erlauben. Der Rest passiert von selbst und war binnen 10 Minuten erledigt.

In Germany pet health care is not for free - while it got more expensive and having the funds is absolutely advisable it's not unregulated and a total rip-off on worried owners.

Gebührenordnung für Tierärzte is a bit complicated (Germany after all) - vets can decide between three price levels depending on the area there in and whatnot.
And I only have a healthy dog for comparison: Annually I spent probably around 200-700 € for vaccines, worm treatment, clipping of nails, the odd infected ear, skin, an x-ray or whatever she comes up with.

Fond memories of a work colleague from china who introduced me to the delight of eating Leberkäsweck (I have trouble translating this one - very finely grinded and baked meat in a bun topped with mustard) together with Linzertorte (also no idea - think of crumbly shortbread with tons of nuts in the dough and topped with jam). Your nearest German will probably die instantly. 🤣

@morph ne, mitten im Garten. Ich habe im Moment gedanklich drei Plätze: zwei Säulen/Spaliere und ein (kleiner) Baum.
Wenn Kirsche, dann muss ich Befruchtung mitdenken: Der nächste mir bekannte Kirschbaum ist 600m Luftlinie entfernt.

Ja, ne? Haut mich auch nicht vom Hocker, zumal es wirklich klein sein müsste. Säulen werden vermutlich auch nicht wirklich funktionieren, oder?

Habs noch nie gemacht, lese immer nur, dass Süßkirschen groß sein wollen.

I have either space for two tiny spindles/espaliers or one solitary tree with two varieties (for pollination).
