    I think people would be surprised how much of the worlds infrastructure just runs on top of ordinary Windows computers, not fundamentally much different from your home PC.
    A single buggy kernel driver update from CS Falcon is showing it.
    Even grocery store checkout machines aren't safe.

    @kirby @munir @n3f_X speaking of errno, that's actually the biggest issue I've had so far
    did you know errno isn't a normal global variable, but is actually an internal macro thing specific to the C compiler/runtime? so there's no standard/portable way to access it from a non-C language like Rust?
    using errno is required for many common libc functions, like socket stuff. makes using them in Rust an adventure

    @kirby @n3f_X it is! especially when it needs to interact with C code, which this stuff has to a lot
    It has many nice features though, I'm actually liking Rust a lot so far

    @allison I mostly am friend, main takeaways so far:

    • For anything low-level or without 1mb+ binaries (what I need), you can't use the standard library
    • Without the standard library, you can't use nearly any 3rd-party rust libraries, only C libraries
    • Using C libraries is complicated and code is very ugly

    Working it out though, almost got mongoose C library for http client/server working, since you can't use any rust networking libraries without std

      The term Gharqad (Arabic: غرقد) is used in some Islamic Hadith segments to describe a tree which according to Sunni Islamic eschatology, will protect the Jews fighting against Muslims on the time of a great war at the end times, specifically after the second coming of Jesus according to Islam.     @lelouchebag yes friend I use a combination of things for internet anonymity, including TOR (which I do recommend), but also other protections I can't detail
    I'm not familiar enough with VPN providers to recommend one sorry. I personally wouldn't rely on one for very illegal or sensitive things, but that may not apply to you, so a VPN service might be fine. depends who you want privacy from
