@ChrisMayLA6 @GeofCox @Roadwarrior29 totally unsurprising. I think the bit of the picture that has been completely missed out is education. The them and us narrative had been allowed to fester. The result is absolutely terrifying cycling in towns and a widening of the divide between different road user interests. We are all just travellers and sometimes choose to travel in different ways. How well the right wingers have managed to politicise getting to work, is actually impressive

@GeofCox @Roadwarrior29 @ChrisMayLA6 the cycle to work scheme is a loan to folk who are in work. Cash has been cut to projects that were promoting cycling and providing bikes to folk on very low incomes and even no incomes, like refugees. One fell swoop about a year ago and everything was cut. There was absolutely no press outcry. No one seemed to notice.

@TimWardCam @Indyposterboy @LillyHerself when did Cornwall lose its independence? Who to? I've never seen it marked distinctly on any map. How far back would I need to go to find it? Just interested.

@Indyposterboy @LillyHerself I think they do know. I think their continual efforts to confuse the population is by design.

@IndyRichard @LillyHerself and also confused about the status of the constituent parts of the UK. I don't blame them for their confusion. It's promoted by all the institutions of the UK.

@GeofCox @ChrisMayLA6 WHO has identified walking as the easiest thing to promote to get people more active, which in turn reduces all those illnesses folk develop due to leading a sedentary life. Funding for programs that promote walking, and activity in general, have been cut across the board. It's so short sighted as to be almost criminal.

@LillyHerself Surely, it is. It is not though, The UK, the Nation or Britain. In a piece specifically about England, would it be so difficult to just refer to it as England?

@electropict my immediate response was "Fuck off". That was before I even thought about it.
Someone was commissioned to come up with that Tesco T-shirt sentiment and presumably paid handsomely to produce it. Others passed it as being something they could endorse and support.
The whole thing together is an instruction to be a door mat.

@billyjoebowers I think you'd struggle to find anyone from the other three countries that make up the UK, who are as confused as the England based, institutions of the UK. I'm never sure if they are actually confused or if they are just trolling.

@RFPatterson it doesn't even seem to have it's own identity. It's pretty sad.

@Roadwarrior29 would be nice if they could pick something more accurate at least.
