Although, as I read recently, use of cycles for work trips is in decline, post-Covid... which is a pity, if unsurprising given car drivers treatment of cyclists (especially on urban commuter routes).

@ChrisMayLA6 @GeofCox @Roadwarrior29 totally unsurprising. I think the bit of the picture that has been completely missed out is education. The them and us narrative had been allowed to fester. The result is absolutely terrifying cycling in towns and a widening of the divide between different road user interests. We are all just travellers and sometimes choose to travel in different ways. How well the right wingers have managed to politicise getting to work, is actually impressive
@CloudyMrs @ChrisMayLA6 @GeofCox @Roadwarrior29 Need to have places to park/decent bus links to same places outside town centres with bikes you can rent to get into the middle. With no cars in the centre except for taxis or disabled transport.
@nusher @ChrisMayLA6 @GeofCox @Roadwarrior29 they could do all that (they won't) but without education that brings the population along, the result will be a backlash at the next election that reverses any progress.
