@aral oh lovely, so the biggest company in it's affordability at invading the privacy of people & within this making #DisabilityAccessibilty in tech get dragged backwards by decades is now pushing itself into the #OpenSource sphere.
I don't even want to guess at the specific costs of fixing things anymore, as supply costs & tools keep rising, but minimally we'll need $10,000 to even get this house in decent shape again. Help if you can, a #disabled married couple, of a #Jewish woman & #Wiccan man. https://ko-fi.com/malkabethwendy
@xenophora@FlashMobOfOne going to 2nd the suggestion of a CW, as I rarely boost things without them, because I'm mindful of my own & that of others in getting overloaded &/or trauma triggered by political chatter.
@mook *nods* I don't plan on ballot casting for 3 main reasons 1. I believe the machines will rig away my & other people's choices in counting
2. I don't believe that the person listed as POTUS is even in real authority anymore & even if they were, anyone I'd actually want wouldn't have enough people in the house & senate to push through any public policy changes I want.
3. With how difficult physically standing in the lines, filling out a ballot & putting it in for scanning is on me, I don't really find, what small odds remain of my getting something good done with this, in risking myself for said mess set.
*Ideally I'd like a combo of ranked choice voting, publicly hand counted paper ballots & going back to the system of whichever candidate came in 2nd automatically becoming VP --- then I might have a chance of getting my "dream team" or similar of a Libertarian as POTUS & Green as VP for 8 years before that'd flip- then in 24 years we even might have a decent political setup...🙍
@mook especially as Harris & Trump are both viewed minimally as "not great options" by over 60% of people eligible to ballot cast in the USA.
Posts like from said people just make them seem like messes of people & don't help their party nor candidate gain support from the growing # of people of my ilk, who revile all Republicrats
Republicrat : A Democrat, Republican, Green, Libertarian or other/unaffiliated politician &/or candidate for public office that largely believes in & supports the status quo including but not limited to: 1.Keeping the components of the Intel/security state going like the Department of Homeland Security, FBI, CIA, NIA, NSA, ICE as agencies
2. Keeping the big corporate partners of the US government intact, instead of either banning or shredding them via antitrust laws like Microsoft, Iheart/clear channel, Google, Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Monsanto, Walmart, Nesley & 3M
3. Maintaining or pushing the myth set that SSA benefits are only for seniors, the SSA programs have been protected to keep up with real cost of living increases, the ADA does have an enforcement mechanism inclusive of law enforcement, elected politicians or their staffers going around & actually enforcing a set of accessibility standards
4. Maintaining or pushing the narrative that either #republicans or #democrats consistently when in office push a clearly defined set of public policy positions that's very different from the other of those two.
I'm sorry but in seeing someone at least briefly try to claim that the ages of Biden & Trump were a problem but #JillStein as a candidate was a better & real alternative to said aged people - my first thought was "but I don't think she's really much younger than they are" & indeed looking it up - she's 74 years old, Trump is 78 & Biden is 81- so she's 4 years younger thusly than Trump & 7 than Biden... I'm not saying that she's in anywhere near as bad a condition as Biden, but to call her a candidate of youth is just farcical, she's an elder stateswoman of the Green Party & likely it's best known national leaders, but she shows that, similar to the Dems & GOPs - the Greens have problem with letting younger people come & lead.
I'm glad to see Stein showing up & getting arrested in st Louis, but that doesn't really earn her any respect from me nor support in this run for POTUS. It doesn't fix the fact that she's running 8 years after she promised she'd never run again. It doesn't fix the fact that the people running the Greens in Missouri & more than a few other states from what I've seen, are a bunch of elderly middle class & low level rich hobbyists, who don't really do anything but occasionally get petitions signed & run for offices they know they'll never gain.
I need to see more than that, especially with the ballot counting/voting machines messes over the entire system, and all the legalized bribery of politicians within said system, to get me back in support of any part of said cesspool.
I'm indeed going to try & be at that event in Columbia tomorrow but at the moment, even my signing a ballot account petition for the Greens is only a 90% "yes" if I see it around...& My gosh but do I wish I still had enthusiasm for said entity (the green party) but I just don't 🙍!
My spouse got either a govt official deliberately misidentifying themselves to him, a developer or associate of a nasty neighbor of ours, to "threaten" us over the condition of the house, which we completely own, so the faster we (as a disabled couple) can speed the repairs the better. #DisabledNotDisposable #MutualAid Help if you can https://t.co/xfNNdDd2hm
1. There's no housing shortage, rather over 5 vacant homes exist for every single homeless person.
2. 90% of rental units in the USA aren't disabled accessible
3. The SSI maximum of under $850/month isn't enough for renting a 1 bedroom apartment to be 30% of in any part of the USA (and as SSI is adjusted down for any& all household members with money's, this really is "it")
4. Wages haven't risen with housing costs in over 35 years.
5. 20% of the population is disabled
6. Most public poverty aide centers aren't disabled accessible
7. Most homeless people aren't substance abusers/addicts.
8. The real unemployed adult rate has varied from 34-40% for the past 20 years.
@yogthos so I guess I need to really get a new phone to switch it to calyx or similar ASAP, because as it is, in spite of me rather continually refusing to activate & trying to disable Google's AI, it keeps turning itself on every few months ...🙃
@aral thanks for this update in this project, as at this point Kitten is amongst my top 10, tech tasks to do now after I start my tech updates overall (which will be very soon after the roof is done if I'm not sizably injured by that). The simplicity factor is probably amongst my favorite aspects of it, it's a approachability to me, as someone who's spent the most time within coding & prompt realms just before Microsoft basically stole windows from Apple.
@aral@knwmoon exactly & there was an ultra comical example of that when the New York City Police Department 3 month long strike was ended, not by their union demands being caved to, but by the report that they got an advanced copy of, showing that the crime rate, of all types including violent most of all, went down during their absence. 🤪 #ACAB
I've yet to see a political figure without enough real & direct things they'd done or said that were wrong to at least seem warranted to want them barred from trust &/or elected office -- including relatively good ones like the late Mike Gravel -- so I really don't have any like of seeing the nonsensical "if this candidate did an interview with someone who by my standards has bigoted opinions & gives them a courtesy verbal thanks at the end it, then the candidate is that type of bigot" argument set.
* This isn't an endorsement of any person, as so far I'm still pretty solidly set with Cthulhu.
It isn't to say that any of the interviewers that get these accusations aren't bigots either, as I'm certain all who've been doing this for over a week, have made bigoted remarks during said time. Racist, sexist, ableist, ageist & antireligious minority are probably the most common categories so -- comb through a month of any of your favorites, as I'm tired of this nonsense--- especially from those who want me to take elections as a process seriously! If we didn't have so much rigging then this would be among my top 10 reasons for not taking such contests seriously... because said silliness shows others don't!
