Why I get so little done in the garden. It’s full of birds I don’t want to disturb. Also the house wren, ruby throated humming bird and red bellied woodpecker stopped in.

@GPJohnston scared the daylights out of me. This is right outside my kitchen window and I hadn’t seen it come in. Just looked up and there it was! Managed to back out and get back with the good camera for three shots before it took off.

@ai6yr @ColesStreetPothole @GPJohnston for a small raptor they are still pretty big. Really glad we don’t still have moa or elephant birds around. The birds we have left are pretty terrifying.

A visitor this morning. I wondered when all these feeders would attract a higher trophic level!

Post blizzard sunny cold winter day. The world is covered in fondant.

@ai6yr @ATLeagle I’ve done that and also driven a screw through it. More for spite than as an actual solid fix. But it seems to hold.

It’s very cold today and we had another ~3 inches of snow. So something like ~20 inches in the last few weeks, with below freezing temps mostly and very little melting. Here is what the side of the driveway looks like where the shoveled snow gets piled up. The streets are beginning to look a bit like canyons.

Lego bonsai tree converted to winter mode. Just learned individual pieces are now harder to get due to tariffs.

Powers out. Tree down in the yard. Had to go to dr’s appointment. Tree down across our road, and also on the main road once we got there. Called Dr and said we’d be a little late got there not too late and they misunderstood and cancelled appointment. Rescheduled for January. Now to get hot food then figure out how to get home. At least the camping trip tonight has been canceled.

My friend who has amazingly bad luck, like jaw dropping bad, threw her back out yesterday helping her kid (who is sick with flu) out of bed. And broke the bed.
This afternoon, an Amazon driver took a wrong turn down her long, steep, twisty driveway, and then got stuck because the rear wheel electric van couldn’t get back up the snow covered drive, which was unplowed since her plow guy never showed up. Two tow truck drivers took one look and said nope. Driver, who is so getting fired

The creche at spouse's office gains followers daily.

They've also adorned the fig tree that out grew our house with lights and ornaments.
